§ 65-6-9. Plugging, capping and sealing of abandoned sewer laterals.

When a building is razed or a new sewer connection is provided for an existing building, the owner of the property shall have the abandoned sewer lateral plugged or capped at, or outside of, the property line, and tightly sealed in a manner approved by the Building Official. If the owner fails to take such action within a reasonable time, the Building Official, after notice to the owner, shall arrange to have this work performed and the cost charged against the owner.
