§ 23-1-1. License required; exceptions.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person, except a licensed bondsman, to enter into any bond for others for compensation, whether as a principal or surety. Nothing in this Article shall be construed to apply to guaranty, indemnity, fidelity and security companies doing business in this State under the provisions of Title 38.1. Chapter 14; Va. Code Ann.
