§ 4-12-1. Fortune-tellers, clairvoyants and practitioners of palmistry and phrenology; license tax; penalty.

  • (a)

    Any person who for compensation shall tell fortunes or act as a clairvoyant or practice palmistry or phrenology or act as a spirit medium or astrologist shall pay an annual license tax of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), which shall be due and payable January 31 of each year and shall not be transferred or prorated.

    (b)

    Any person who for compensation shall engage in the practice above described in this Section without the license required shall be fined not less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense. (1-20-71; 1961 Code, § 25-89; 2-75-25.)
