§ 11-1-9. Unlawful practices—Retaliation.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person:

    (1)

    To direct or indirectly cause or coerce, or attempt to cause or coerce, any person to do any act declared to be an unlawful act under this Chapter;

    (2)

    To directly or indirectly engage in economic reprisal, to do, threaten to do, or attempt to do harm to any person or property or to otherwise retaliate against any person because such person has opposed any practice based on a good faith belief that it is unlawful under this Chapter, or has complied with the terms of this Chapter, or has had a complaint filed in his or her behalf, or has filed a complaint or has testified, assisted, or participated in any manner in any investigation, proceeding, or hearing under this Chapter or exercised or attempted to exercise any right conferred herein.
