Upon the removal of any inoperative motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer pursuant
to this Article, the Impoundment Officer or other agent or contractor of the County
shall notify the last-known registered owner of the vehicle, if any, in writing of
the intent to dispose of such vehicle, and may dispose of such vehicle ten (10) days
after delivering or serving such written notice to the last-known registered owner
of the vehicle in person or at their last-known address.
The information contained in the records of the Department of Motor Vehicles concerning
the name and address of the last-known registered owner of any motor vehicle, trailer
or semitrailer shall be presumed accurate and may be relied upon in the administration
and enforcement of this Chapter.
Prior to disposal, the owner of an inoperative motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer
may redeem such vehicle within ten (10) days after receiving such notice of disposal
by payment of the costs of removal, towing and storage of the vehicle to the agent(s)
or contractor(s) responsible for such removal, towing and storage. (20-85-110; 25-87-110.)
